Whether swinging with her hot jazz band 'The Salty Dogs' at a wedding, or singing ballads from the American songbook with a lone piano at The Daffodil Restaurant, Cate Cody is a very popular performer in restaurants and jazz festivals as well as weddings, parties and corporate work. Highlights include a 500 seat marquee full to bursting at Upton jazz festival, and over 350 fans to see a self-devised themed concert at The Roses Theatre,Tewkesbury. Ideally located for events in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire, Cate Cody & her jazz band will also travel all over country.

Hire Cate with just a pianist for something intimate or low-key, add clarinet/sax for something extra, or for the full swing experience have the six piece jazz band.  Whichever combination you choose you can be assured of a high quality performance with some of the best musicians in classic jazz available.  Always sensitive to your needs, you won't be deafened by an electric band, "brassed-off" by a 'Trad' band, or be left unfulfilled by a karaoke act.

A high proportion of bookings are for weddings. Having performed at nearly 100 weddings of all shapes & sizes, Cate is well placed to advise on the appropriate choice of music at the various stages of the big day. For example, during the drinks reception some gentle swinging vocals with piano and upright bass are ideal. The aim is to provide a backdrop, a relaxed atmosphere for guests to chat.  This combination isn't too loud & doesn't need much room.  If music is wanted during the meal piano/vocal ballads and solo piano pieces are more appropriate. Finally, clarinet/saxophone, guitar and drums can be added for the evening party. Let the dancing commence!

Swing  Dance  -  Lindy Hop & Balboa

Cate is a keen dancer of Lindy Hop - the authentic swing dance of the 30s. She has been booked twice by UK Lindy Hop champions Gary & Sara Boon at Gloster Jive & Swing Dance, as well as organising her own successful dances, with over 100 enthusiastic dancers at her last event. Her band are also available to other swing dance organisers around the country.
