New album 'In The Mood For Love' out now.....Audio samples>>>
Sophisticated 1930s vocal jazz for occasions large and small featuring Cate Cody - one the UK's finest jazz singers. Cate performs in a variety of line-ups especially to suit the event - jazz band, trio or piano duo. Her swinging jazz band 'Cate Cody & Her Salty Dogs' feature some of the UK's top musicians who have worked with amongst others, Clare Teal, Bryan Ferry and George Melley. Add to piano and vocals combinations of bass, sax/clarinet, drums and guitar to create the ideal jazz band specifically to suit the event or your preference. Alternatively, the Piano and Vocal duo can feature ballads from the American Songbook for intimate, low-key settings or a more varied programme including variable tempos when the mood is required. Her Trio adds either Sax/Clarinet for additional melody or Double Bass for enhanced rhythm; the choice is yours.
The 1930s is widely regarded as the Golden Age of Jazz and many of the most famous and memorable songs of the 20th Century were written at this time. Composers such as Fats Waller, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael and Gershwin wrote the songs and many prominent versions were performed and recorded by singers as diverse as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, and Nat 'King' Cole. Of course many of the thousands of tunes written are less well known and include some 'gems' which must be performed in order to keep them alive - this is something that Cate and her band are keen to do - so listen out for those rare songs amongst the classics.
Vocal jazz is suited to so many events requiring music and appeals to a wide variety of people. This makes it an ideal choice for weddings and anniversary parties as well as corporate entertainment. Whether you choose the piano duo, the trio or the full jazz band, you can be assured of the highest quality live music, a professional and punctual service and exciting enjoyment for you and your guests.
